Book Review: SOJOURNERS is a reference for mature Christians that will make the Word of God come to life. Mrs. Arnold gives fresh revelation from the Holy Bible that clarifies and inspires. This book gives insight to the remnant people, whom seek to be led, by the Spirit of God, out of bondage by traditional taskmasters and into their inheritance. Book Review: Spiritually sound and truly inspirational, Sojourners in a Strange Land leads readers to a place of peace. Basing the book on God's promise to Abraham in Genesis 17:8, author Rochelle Arnold views this verse with an eye to a contemporary fulfillment. The Lord's covenant with the patriarch is seen to impact the lives of believers today in real and personal ways. Throughout this book, Scripture is quoted to bolster the author's beliefs and to increase the faith of readers.
Written in a conversational tone, these pages are more like a quiet talk with the author. Her enthusiasm is evident and her desire to teach the wonderful truths of God is abundantly clear. She shares personal moments in her own life, when the Lord reached out and touched her in both mind and body. Her testimonies are amazing and forthright. At times, it feels as if she is reaching out her hand to lift up anyone who may be stumbling under a heavy burden because she herself knows what it's like to wait upon the Lord.
When writing about the Scriptures, her words carry authority as she clearly presents appropriate verses to enlighten readers about the ways in which God works and walks among us. The theme of being a sojourner runs through these pages as the tension of being in the world, but not "of" the world becomes more understandable. She presents a vision for the future and leads readers to the point of entering into the mighty promises of God.
The power of prayer and beauty of a faith-filled life grace this book with hope. God's abundant love and protection is made real and accessible to all that call upon His name. Read this book to be impressed with the author's victories, but most importantly, to be reminded of the Lord's everlasting mercies.
