I Drove the Nails in His Hands

As I was taking my morning walk, I spotted a huge industrial size nail lying in the street. I picked it up and immediately began to have impressions of Christ on the cross. Jesus died for us even when we were still sinners. He knew the fallen nature of mankind and He chose to die for us anyway. In a sense, we all drove those nails into His hands and feet.

He suffered so we would not have to. He was bruised for our iniquity or wickedness. By His stripes, we are healed. He took our place on the cross, as an act of grace and mercy. So many times today Father God is depicted as this grumpy old guy ready to smack you over the head with a hammer. There are many extreme teachings in the church, which only make Christians look ridiculous from those looking from the outside in.

Jesus came to save and heal mankind. He did not come to lay manifold rules and regulations on us. He did not come to bring guilt and condemnation. Frankly, I am embarrassed at some of the things I see Christians say and do. The Jesus I know is full of love and compassion. He is ready to embrace and protect His children.

Psalm 103:3 reads, “He who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. He who satisfies your desires with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.”

When I picked up this large nail, I immediately saw myself driving it into the Lord’s hands. Why? You might ask, because He was pierced for our transgressions. (Isaiah 53:5) All of my sin was put upon Him, the spotless Lamb, so I could have life more abundantly right now. Jesus does not want us to suffer through this life just barely getting by.

Mankind crucified Jesus by nailing Him to a cross. The Bible says, “Everyone who hangs upon a tree is cursed.” (Deuteronomy 21:23) He became a curse for us so we would not have to live under the curse of the law. When we live under the law of guilt and condemnation, we are in effect falling away from Christ. We make His suffering and death to no avail. This grieves the Holy Spirit.

We must recognize what a great sacrifice was made for mankind. As I saw myself driving the nail into His hand, I saw all of mankind’s sin and filth nailed to the cross. All of our good works and right behavior would never be enough to save ourselves. On the flip side of that, no matter what we do, we are never beyond the reach of Jesus Christ.

When Jesus finally died on the cross He said, “It is finished.” (John 19:29-30) This means nothing more needs to be done or undone for us to have eternal security. Sadly some extreme teachings have come out of the church, which are not correct. One main teaching circulating now implies that a Christian has the moral power to backslide, become apostate and be lost.

Interestingly, the word apostate here has been used out of context. Apostate means false. After doing extensive study on the subject, I believe the great falling away in the last days is not speaking of born again believers backsliding. The great falling away is the apostate church or so called Christians, whom propagate false and destructive teachings.

Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come] and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition),

Who opposes and exalts himself so proudly and insolently against and over all that is called God or that is worshiped, [even to his actually] taking his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming that he himself is God. (2 Thessalonians 3)

I believe we are living in the day of the great falling away. Demonic spirits have entered the church and are now teaching doctrines that stand against the sound Word of God. While those teaching these doctrines believe that they are right, in fact they are very, very wrong. This is the sign of the apostate church.

BUT THE [Holy] Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach. (1Timothy 4:1)

In conclusion, I looked up the word nails in my dream book. (Biblical Keys to Understanding the Dreams you Dream, by Ira Milligan.) The meaning of the word nails is Word of God or man, wisdom, vows, covenant, steadfast, permanent, unmovable, unchangeable, secure-(as in: they stole everything that wasn’t nailed down.) Jesus was nailed securely to the cross for all of mankind. No devil in hell, no human on earth, no false doctrine or anything else can snatch us from His hand.

We, who believe in Christ as the living son of God, are permanently secure in our salvation. You and I nailed His hands and feet to the cross because we are all sinners, yet he loved us even then. We are under covenant with him. We are to be steadfast and unmovable because He is unchangeable. The sound doctrine of the Bible is clear. I drove the nails in His hands.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38)

I pray this prayer in the power of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ, I bind, rebuke, and bring to no effect, all division, discord, disunity, strife, anger, wrath, murder, criticism, condemnation, pride, envy, jealousy, gossip, slander, evil speaking, complaining, lying, false teaching, false gifts, false manifestations, lying signs and wonders, poverty, fear of lack, fear spirit, murmuring spirit, complaining spirits, hindering spirits, retaliatory spirits, deceiving spirits, religious spirits, occult spirits, witchcraft spirits and spirits of Antichrist.

I bind all curses that have been spoken against me, the body of Christ, and His church. I bless those who curse me and pray blessings on those who despitefully use me. I bind all spoken judgments made against me and judgments I have made against others. I bind the power of negative words from others and I bind and render useless all prayers not inspired by the Holy Spirit; whether psychic, soul force, witchcraft or counterfeit tongues that have been prayed against me.

I am God’s child. I resist the evil one. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. I put on the whole armor of God. I take authority over this day, in Jesus name. Let it be prosperous for me, let me walk in Your love, Lord.

The Holy Spirit leads and guides me today, I discern between the righteous and the wicked. I take authority over Satan and all his demons and those people who are influenced by them. I declare Satan is under my feet and shall remain there all day and every day. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

I am God’s property, Satan; you are bound from my family, my mind, my body, my home and my finances. I confess that I am healed and whole. I flourish, am long lived, stable, durable, incorruptible, fruitful, virtuous, full of peace, patience and love, Whatsoever I set my hand to do shall prosper for God supplies all my needs. I have all authority over Satan, all demons, and beasts of the fields.

Lord, I pray that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.

God, I pray for the ministry that You have for me. Anoint, me, God, for all You have called me to do for You. I call forth divine appointments, open doors of opportunity, God ordained encounters and ministry positions.

I claim a hedge or protection around myself, spouse, children and grandchildren throughout this day and night. I ask You, God, in the name of Jesus, to dispatch angels to surround my spouse, our children and me today and to put them throughout my house and around all our cars, souls and bodies.

I ask angels to protect my household from any intrusion and to protect me and my family from any harmful demonic or other physical or mental attacks.

I pray for the protection of my home, city and nation. I lift up Israel to be protected and for all those who are lost without Jesus. I pray that the blinders of deception will be removed and the glorious light of truth will shine through.

I ask this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Amen
